Inter come into this one off the back of an important Champions League game in midweek but Simone Inzaghi should still be very confident of picking up all three points against Sampdoria in the San Siro.
Inter have not been incredibly convincing this season and even the victory over Fiorentina at the weekend seemed a little fortunate. Sampdoria arrive in Milan having finally won a Serie A game though. The fixture against Cremonese could not have come at a better time for new boss Dejan Stanković, who had previously only managed to pick up a point in his tenure so far.
He had his keeper Emil Audero to thank as much as goal scorer Omar Colley, with a penalty save in the very early stages giving the Blucerchiati some hope. A 1-0 win against the team at the bottom may not be the most impressive victory of the season – but it is vitally important right now.
Samp will do very well to keep out Inter on Saturday though. The home side’s defensive displays have not been brilliant this season but they have scored a few goals recently. Stanković will need his defenders to perform beyond expectations for his team to have any chance at all of a positive result.
