Inter are in a race against time to find a solution for Arturo Vidal, as no clubs in Europe have come forward for the Chilean.

The Nerazzurri are working to find an accommodation for the midfielder and are in a hurry ahead of the new season, as the knot is getting more and more intricate.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports the reigning champions are hoping to part with his €6.5m-a-year salary this summer, but the links with other clubs have cooled down.

It will also be necessary to evaluate the repercussions related to the growth decree, which the club would not benefit from, according to the newspaper.

Vidal, who was signed from Barcelona by Antonio Conte last summer, is back at Pinetina and is currently preparing for the new season with Simone Inzaghi at the helm.

Inter are willing to listen to any offers for the Chile international and even discuss a termination of the contract, but the alternatives are few for the veteran midfielder.

Vidal, who has experience from stints with Bayer Leverkusen, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Barcelona, appeared 23 times in Serie A when Inter won the Scudetto last term and has a deal until June 2022.

If the 34-year-old won’t get the right offer elsewhere or won’t reach an agreement to terminate his deal with Inter, he could end up staying at the Giuseppe Meazza to see out his deal in the fashion capital.
