Inter are reportedly only prepared to bring in Samuel Umtiti on loan from Barcelona, not as part of the Lautaro Martinez deal.

The two clubs are in intensive negotiations, as Barca have made no secret of their interest in Argentina international Martinez, but aren’t prepared to pay the €111m release clause.

They are hoping to bring the price-tag down with several players in exchange, including Arturo Vidal and Junior Firpo.

Umtiti was also mentioned by the Spanish press, but Calciomercato.com insist Inter have plenty of doubts over the centre-back.

The Nerazzurri are so unimpressed that it’s claimed they are only prepared to take him on loan and not as part of the Lautaro Martinez deal.

Umtiti had a lot of injury problems following his €25m transfer from Olympique Lyonnais in 2016 and has also been linked with Napoli as a replacement for Kalidou Koulibaly.
