Inter ultra leader Andrea Beretta has been placed under special surveillance for 18-months as a result of his various crimes, reports detail.

The Nerazzurri’s hardcore fans drew attention to themselves during the club’s win over Sampdoria last week, when they emptied the stadium during the half-time break and pushed everyday fans to join them. Some fans have reported being threatened by the ultras in the incident and the power of ultra groups has again become a hot topic in the Italian peninsula.

As reported by La Repubblica, the Prevention Measures Section of the Milan Court has ordered for special surveillance on Inter ultra leader Beretta for the next 18 months due to the ‘serious social dangerousness’ of the 47-year-old.

Beretta has reportedly been charged with various crimes in the past such as theft, robbery, kidnapping, drug violations, assault, threats, extortion and numerous violations of a sporting ban. The 47-year-old is also accused of taking part in the violent beating of a street vendor outside the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on February 16 ahead of the Champions League game against Liverpool.

Special surveillance stipulates that a person may not go out after 10pm and before 7am, may not take part in meetings in public places and may not enter or reside in the territory of the Municipality of Milan.

  1. You don’t tell someone that they are on “special surveillance” if you are investigating them or surveilling them for crimes. God Italian police really has a lot to learn LOL.
