Arsenal reportedly turned down a new €40m offer from AS Monaco for Folarin Balogun, so Inter turn to cheaper alternative Mehdi Taremi of FC Porto.

Nerazzurri director of sport Piero Ausilio already spoke to Sport Mediaset this evening and confirmed Balogun was “not the only” striker they were tracking on the transfer market.

It is clear why, because RMC Sport claim that AS Monaco raised their bid for Balogun to €40m and that too was rejected by Arsenal.

That means the €50m asking price for the USMNT talent is not negotiable and Inter simply cannot reach that figure for one player.

Instead, Sky Sport Italia suggest that the Serie A side are turning back towards another alternative who will be considerably cheaper.

Even then, FC Porto are asking for €30m to part with Taremi, who just turned 31 years of age and is down to the final months of his contract.

Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with Taremi in case Harry Kane moves to Bayern Munich.
