Inter have already shown signs of their transfer strategy under new owners Oaktree, focusing on low-cost talents who could grow into stars.

The Nerazzurri started off the summer market with the arrivals of free agents Piotr Zielinski and Mehdi Taremi, both of whom were signed by previous owners Suning, and have now placed their focus on a different type of player.

Inter have already picked up goalkeeper Josep Martinez from Genoa, ready to slot him into the first team, and 18-year-old Luka Topalovic has arrived from NK Domzale, being left to develop in the Primavera squad.

Inter switch strategies

La Gazzetta dello Sport underlines how Inter’s transfer strategy has immediately shifted under Oaktree, looking to bring in players who’ll become decisive in the future rather than investing heavily in more experienced veterans.

Their next targets are Venezia’s Tanner Tessmann, who’ll be loaned out to continue his development, and Real Betis teenager Alex Perez, who could prove himself to Simone Inzaghi at the pre-season training camp.

The Milanese club are also looking to set up a deal with Sampdoria for 17-year-old centre back Giovanni Leoni, whose €5-6m price tag is considered too high.
