As reported by Il Corriere dello Sport, Inter won’t need to sell any of their stars in the summer, but Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio can’t spend more than what they’ll get from player sales.
The Nerazzurri are celebrating the 20th Serie A title in their history, but directors are already working to strengthen the team for 2024-25.
Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski will move to the Stadio Meazza on a free transfer and according to Il Corriere dello Sport, Inter’s next primary transfer targets are Albert Gudmundsson (Genoa), Alessandro Bungiorno (Torino), and Bento (Athletico Paranaense).
Inter have clear transfer strategy after Serie A title victory
The Italian sports paper confirms that the Nerazzuri will still have a limited transfer budget in the summer, but at least they won’t be forced to sell any of their stars to balance the books.
However, Marotta and Ausilio will have to balance transfer income and expenditure next summer so the Serie A champions won’t be allowed to spend more than they’ll get from player sales. Gazzetta reported the same at the beginning of April.
So, how can Inter raise funds to make new signings?
Corriere dello Sport confirms that Denzel Dumfries will leave if he refuses to sign a contract extension beyond 2025 and Marko Arnautovic’s future is also uncertain.
A few young players and loanees could leave too. Inter will reportedly listen to offers for Gaetano Oristanio, currently at Cagliari, Filip Stankovic, Mattia Zanotti, Martin Satriano and the brothers Esposito, Sebastiano and Francesco Pio.
The Nerazzurri want to keep Franco Carboni and only an offer in the region of €35-40m would make the club change their stance. As for Joaquin Correa, Olympique Marseille will have an obligation to buy the Argentinean striker for €10m if they win the Europa League.
