Matteo Darmian will reportedly sign a contract extension with Inter, while Yann Sommer is one of the candidates to replace Samir Handanovic next season, but Manchester United and Bayern Munich are also interested.

The Nerazzurri’s priority is to outline the future of the many players with a contract expiring in June.

Among them, are Milan Skriniar and Matteo Darmian.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the former Parma and Milan defender is close to reaching an agreement over a new two-year deal, which will see him remain at the club until he’s 35.

Inter director Piero Ausilio confirmed on Monday night that the Nerazzurri have also made their offer for Skriniar and are waiting for a reply from the defender’s entourage.

The likes of Samir Handanovic and Stefan de Vrij do not have a guaranteed spot at the club for 2023-24. Both see their contracts expire this coming June and according to the report, the Nerazzurri have not opened talks with any of them.

It is no coincidence that Borussia Monchengladbach’s Sommer is a potential replacement for Handanovic. The Swiss international’s contract also expires in June, but Man United and Bayern Munich are also said to be interested in the 34-year-old.
