The club from Milan is currently in a deadlock with Liverpool to ensure the services of the Swiss playmaker, even as Roberto Mancini stated his optimism yesterday.

Today Inter are expected to improve their position in negotiations, with director general Fassone flying in to adjourn with Rummenigge.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Erick Thohir's club will be using that meeting to raise their offer from the current €12m over three years to something that may rival Liverpool's higher bid of €15m.

Whilst the details are not yet specified, it is suggested that La Beneamata will achieve this through increasing potential bonus payments due to the Germans.

For his part, Shaqiri is apparently leaning towards a move to Inter, with a contract offer reportedly presented this week.

Inter will also be meeting intermediaries for Hajduk Split’s sporting director Goran Vucevic today, for the transfer of Tino-Sven Susic. The Gazzetta claims that the Nerazzurri will be buying some time but will look to purchase him after a few more days.
