Inter are set to sign Raoul Bellanova from Cagliari on loan with an obligation to buy, according to reports in Italy.

The 22-year-old made 31 Serie A appearances last season as Cagliari suffered relegation to Serie B.

Gazzetta dello Sport report Bellanova will come in initially on a season-long loan but Inter have the obligation to then make the move permanent.

He will fill the hole left by Ivan Perisic, who joined Tottenham Hotspur, the report adds. Bellanova will play mainly on the right side along with Denzel Dumfries while versatile Matteo Darmian will switch flanks to offer cover for Roben Gosens.

The deal is likely to similar to that which will bring Kristjan Asllani to Inter from Empoli as Simone Inzaghi looks for younger players.

Italian-born Bellanova played for Milan at youth level but made his professional bow in France with Bordeaux,

However, he endured a difficult debut and didn’t play for the club again. He was loaned to Atalanta in January 2020 but made his breakthrough during a spell in Serie B with Pescara.

At the beginning of last season, Bellanova joined Cagliari on loan with the option to buy and that clause was triggered at the end of last month.
