Inter have an overabundance of midfielders, reportedly pushing Simone Inzaghi to cut Stefano Sensi for their registered Champions League squad.

The Nerazzurri were active in the summer transfer window and signed a long list of players, including two new midfielders – Davide Frattesi and Davy Klaassen. Space was made in the department after Marcelo Brozovic and Roberto Gagliardini left in July.

Following his year on loan with Monza, Inter decided to retain Sensi for the 2023-24 season, making him part of their Serie A squad. A muscle issue has forced him out of action again, however, and it’s likely that the 28-year-old will continue to deal with regular injuries in the future.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Inter need to register their Champions League squad by midnight tonight and it’s expected that Inzaghi will exclude Sensi from the list, allowing him to include Klaassen.

Sensi’s career has been derailed by injuries since he joined Inter in the summer of 2019, dealing with various issues from muscle and ligament problems to a broken leg.
