Inter will reportedly launch an appeal to the FIGC over Alessandro Bastoni’s two-match ban, while the Nerazzurri will accept Simone Inzaghi’s suspension.
The FIGC Sporting Judge has punished both Bastoni and Inzaghi following Saturday’s derby.
The defender received a two-match ban because of his ‘repeated insults towards one of the referee’s assistants.’
On the other hand, Inzaghi had targeted the referee inside the dressing room at the end of the match and was also fined €15,000.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Inter will try to reduce Bastoni’s ban as the defender was not sent off during the match.
The defender would miss the upcoming Serie A fixture against Napoli anyway, having sustained an ankle injury against Roma last night.
The Italy international also revealed on social media what had caused his suspension. Bastoni has claimed he only told one of the referee’s assistants: “You were rubbish.”
It now remains to be seen how long Bastoni will remain out of action following yesterday’s injury against the Giallorossi.

It will get reduced to one game, which means he still missed Napoli (if he’s even fit enough to play).

Whilst Inter has a history of favourable treatment by the football authorities, and so it will likely be reduced to one match, I agree two matches is steep for what he said, which let’s face it, happens in every game. He misses the Napoli game due to injury anyway, but this is a crucial game for them as they are starting to look a little shaky with recent last minute wins and the loss to Milan. If they lose to Napoli and get smashed, as expected against Liverpool, the title race will be wide open.

Bastoni isn’t a threat. He is not even good enough to dislodge a washed up Bonucci or a one-legged Chiellini from the NT in his prime.
