Marcelo Brozovic will renew his contract with Inter after an agreement was reached on the details, and an announcement is expected soon.

The 29-year-old Croatian midfielder has been one of the most important players in coach Simone Inzaghi’s squad this season and there were fears that he would leave the club on a free transfer in the summer, but now those have been averted following a successful round of negotiations.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Brozovic has agreed to renew his contract with Inter until 2026, when he’ll be 34 years old. This is a sign of the Nerazzurri’s trust and belief in the player, something that can also be seen with his new salary; the Croatian midfielder will earn €6m net per season, with add-ons attached that could see that figure rise to €7m net.

The expectation is that everything will be fully formalised over the next week or two, meaning that an announcement is expected after the upcoming Derby della Madonnina against Milan. The agreement was reportedly reached around 10 days ago, which has allowed the club to work calmly in this January transfer window.
