Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio says he’s working to build a team which can compete for the Scudetto ‘as soon as possible’.
The Nerazzurri are ninth in Serie A, and lie 10 points away from a Champions League place under Roberto Mancini, but when asked about a title challenge, the director did not shy away.
“We’re working to ensure that [a title challenge] as soon as possible,” Ausilio told Rai.

“We’re working to ensure that [a title challenge] as soon as possible,” Ausilio told Rai.
“We know it’s not easy, but we’re doing our best. We have to build with intelligence and commitment.
“I hope with the help of everyone at Inter, from the Coach to the fans, this will happen as soon as possible.
“We’ve taken the most difficult path, but also the most fascinating one. We started afresh with Mancini and his ideas about attacking football, but it takes time.
“Our logic is to make investments in players who can improve us. We’ve signed players who are 20, 21 or 22.
“Brozovic, Kovacic and Shaqiri are all young, despite their experience. We’ll grow together.”
Ausilio also spoke about the crisis at Parma, and called on the Lega Serie A to intervene.
“Parma is a case in which an attempt has been made to sweep things under the carpet, because it’s embarrassing. That doesn’t help anyone.
“The Lega Serie A must concentrate on this. It’s not just about Parma, because in the long-term it’s a problem in the football world.”
