Patron Steven Zhang is at Inter's headquarters and has reportedly decided the transfer strategy for the upcoming market.

The President has been able to lay the foundations for a new era that will guarantee a competitive team, but the will not look to stop the increasing costs of having a top team.

Inter will, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, target younger players with lower salaries this summer.

The 35-year-old full-back Aleksandar Kolarov’s contract expires in June and the same goes for former Manchester United man Ashley Young.

Matias Vecino will be looking for a new team, as he failed to do last summer due to a long-term injury, whilst Inter are hoping to find possible suitors and a permanent move for Radja Nainggolan, currently on loan at Cagliari.

Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez face an uncertain future at the Nerazzurri too, as their contracts weigh on the budget.

The newspaper claims the League leaders plan a return from Hellas Verona for left-back Federico Dimarco, but the Gialloblu signed the player on loan with an option to buy in June.

The former Inter youth has improved with Verona coach Ivan Juric and has proven he’s capable to play as a third defender too.

The 19-year-old centre-forward Eddie Salcedo could also return from Verona and the report claims he might get a chance to fight for a place at Inter next term.

In defence, the Nerazzurri are reportedly monitoring the situation of 21-year-old Standard Liege centre-back Zinho Vanheusden.

The Belgium international moved to Standard Liege for a reported €11.75m last term, but Inter are, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, interested in buying back the young defender.

Inter will evaluate the futures of Lorenzo Pirola and Lucien Agoumé, currently on loan at Monza and Spezia respectively.

The Beneamata have also targeted 20-year-old attacking midfielder Thiago Almada, who currently playes for Velez in Argentina.

The youngster has a contract until June 2023, a deal that could help the Nerazzurri pick him up at an affordable price.

But the former Argentina U20 international is not expected to move for less than €20m, a sacrifice the newspaper claims Inter are willing to go through.
