Inter take first step in efforts to sign Dybala

Inter are incredibly interested in signing Paulo Dybala on a free transfer and they’ve opened talks with his agent Jorge Antun.

The 28-year-old Argentinian forward seems destined to leave Juventus at the end of the season after failing to agree a contract renewal with the club. He has made 274 appearances for the Bianconeri since his arrival in 2015 and his departure would be a big blow for coach Massimiliano Allegri, who is already short on attacking talent.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter’s CEO Beppe Marotta spoke to Dybala’s agent Antun on the phone recently to discuss a possible deal. The agent is expected to arrive in Italy later this month or in early February and it’s likely that he’ll meet with the Nerazzurri.

The departures of Arturo Vidal and Matias Vecino guarantee Inter around €16m gross in savings, allowing them to make a strong offer to Dybala. The Milanese club would offer the Argentinian forward the same salary that Christian Eriksen once received: €7.5m net per season for five years plus add-ons linked to objectives, as well as a hefty signing bonus.

Dybala currently earns €7.3m net per season with Juventus, although they did offer him €8m plus €2m in add-ons per season back in October. Tottenham and Barcelona are also keen on signing him, so Inter will have to work hard to convince the 28-year-old.
