Wolfsburg had until now resisted, but his agent said the next 48 hours will be decisive.

“I think Monday is the day to close everything,” Tonci Martic told FCInter1908.

“We’re only waiting for a definitive answer from Wolfsburg.”

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport, the two clubs are closer than ever to agreeing terms.

The deal is likely to settle on €19m for Perisic, just €1m off the asking price, so that can be bridged with bonuses.

Inter intend to take him on loan with mandatory option to buy, therefore spreading out the cost until the next financial year.

Their coffers were replenished over the last week by selling Mateo Kovacic to Real Madrid and Xherdan Shaqiri to Stoke City.
