There are still problems between Inter and Leicester City for Stefano Sensi and the issue could be resolved by renewing his contract first.

The midfielder will be a free agent on July 1 and that makes a loan with option to buy a rather tricky prospect.

Leicester City want to sign him on loan with an option to buy that becomes an obligation if they are promoted to the Premier League.

However, Inter do not want to risk being left in the lurch come June in case the Foxes fail to make the step up from the Championship.

Leicester do not seem to be in a position to pay the full €3.5m fee straight away.

A potential solution could be for Inter to extend Sensi’s contract first until June 2025, then send him on loan to Leicester for €0.5m with the option to buy for a further €3m.

Time is running out ahead of the transfer deadline on the evening of February 1.
