Inter have reportedly stepped up their interest in Chelsea full-back Emerson Palmieri, who could replace Ashley Young at the Giuseppe Meazza.

Sky Sport Italia claims the Nerazzurri are pushing for a deal with the Blues over the Italy international, who has not managed to convince coach Thomas Tuchel.

Emerson made the cut for Euro 2020 and has been identified as the perfect fit at Inter, as he is struggling for playing time in the English capital.

The 26-year-old, who moved to Chelsea from Roma in January 2018, only played twice in the Premier League this term and his current contract expires in June 2022.

Chelsea would have to sell the Brazilian-born Italy international to get some of the €20m back, as the former Palermo could leave on a free transfer next summer.

Emerson, capped 14 times by the Azzurri, is currently with Roberto Mancini’s Italy to prepare for Euro 2020 but the broadcaster believes Inter and Chelsea can reach an agreement in the coming weeks.

Inter are looking to replace Young, who is departing Milan on a free transfer this summer. And Sky Sport Italia claims the Nerazzurri are confident of finding a solution with the Londoners over a move for Emerson.
