Inter striker Romelu Lukaku underwent new medical examinations today and Simone Inzaghi hopes the Belgian striker will be available for the next match against Fiorentina.

The Chelsea loanee has been out of action since the end of August due to a muscle problem and has played just three games with the Nerazzurri since his return to the Stadio Meazza last summer.

Sky Sport Italia and Calciomercato report ‘Big Rom’ underwent new medical examinations today, so he was absent from training at the Suning Training Centre.

If the exam’s results are satisfying, the striker will train with the rest of the team tomorrow or the day after tomorrow and could be available for Saturday’s game against Fiorentina at the Stadio Franchi.

The Nerazzurri earned 18 points in the opening 10 Serie A games this season, winning three of the last five.

Lukaku’s loan spell at Inter ends in the summer, but the Nerazzurri hope they will be able to extend his stay at the club beyond 2023.
