Romelu Lukaku will not take part in Inter’s Coppa Italia clash with Parma after suffering a knee tendon issue.
The 29-year-old Belgian forward’s return to the Nerazzurri has been completely derailed by injuries, limiting the Chelsea loanee to just 348 minutes of Serie A action since his arrival in July. Lukaku came off the bench in the 2-2 draw with Monza and put on a poor display, concerning fans following his disappointing showing at the World Cup in Qatar.
As reported by Sky Sports Italia, Lukaku has suffered a slight inflammation to the tendons of his left knee, forcing him to the sidelines for at least a few days. The Belgian striker will now start individual training work and will not take part in the Coppa Italia Round of 16 tie with Parma.
The 29-year-old’s condition will be reassessed ahead of the Nerazzurri’s weekend commitment with Hellas Verona. The hope is to have Lukaku back in time for the Supercoppa Italiana clash with Milan on January 18.
