Inter have put their faith in and are lending support to coach Simone Inzaghi, who has been under mounting pressure off the pitch in recent weeks following a recent police investigation and a subtle dig from Italy national team head coach Luciano Spalletti.

Although not personally under investigation, Inzaghi was questioned following the arrests of 19 individuals at the end of September, 16 of whom had connections to Inter and Milan ultras groups.

Wire taps revealed that Inzaghi had a conversation with one of the arrested ultras, Marco Ferdico, in relation to securing extra tickets for the 2023 Champions League final against Manchester City.

Then, Inzaghi was hit with a subtle dig by Spalletti about the subject during the CT’s recent press conference with Italy.

Both Inter and Inzaghi were left feeling ‘shocked and disappointed’ by what they viewed as an unnecessary jab from the national team head coach.

La Gazzetta dello Sport notes that the last few weeks have been complicated for Inzaghi on a personal level away from the pitch, but that Inter still have full faith in their coach and are prepared to back him to deliver silverware by the end of the 2024-25 season.
