Inter’s desperation for strikers is having a knock-on effect, as Samuele Longo’s loan to Deportivo La Coruna is on ice.

The 27-year-old forward was meant to join Depor on loan with option to buy that would become an obligation if they earned promotion to La Liga.

However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport transfer expert Nicolò Schira, Inter Coach Antonio Conte has asked the club not to release Longo until they have signed at least another forward.

With Mauro Icardi frozen out, bids for Romelu Lukaku and Edin Dzeko rejected, there are precious few options in attack.

Longo spent the last six months on loan at Cremonese, while before that he had spells at Cagliari, Frosinone, Girona, Tenerife and Huesca.
