Milan Skriniar is surprised Antonio Conte left Inter, but insists he wants to stay at the Giuseppe Meazza.

Conte left the Nerazzurri after bringing the Serie A title back to the black and blue side of Milan for the first time in 11 years.

Simone Inzaghi has reached an agreement with the Nerazzurri and is ready to replace Conte who is now in talks with Real Madrid.

“[Conte’s exit] was surprising for all of us, it’s impossible to deny it,” Skriniar said at a press conference with Slovakia national team, according to Sport Aktuality.

“I found it out from the media, and I don’t have more information, I am curious to know what will happen now.”

However, the 26-year-old doesn’t want to follow in his former boss’s footsteps.

“I’ve said this in the past, I want to stay at Inter and defend the title. I am not following the transfer rumours,” the defender added.

“It was a great feeling to win the Scudetto, unreal. I thought about it when we celebrated in front of our fans.

“It’s a big success also for Slovakia, I am proud to be Slovakian, it was a long and exciting journey.”
