Wanda Nara’s sister claims the wife and agent of Mauro Icardi is “revolutionary” and he isn’t playing because Inter “wanted a show of power.”
The striker was suddenly stripped of the captaincy on February 14 and has not played since, officially due to a knee injury, but with negotiations involving Wanda, a lawyer and club director Beppe Marotta.
“Wanda is very good as a manager and highly respected, so much that she just received an award in Italy for women who lead the way,” Zaira Nara told Argentine television shot Podemos Hablar.
“She has really been revolutionary in Italy, as they are not accustomed to seeing a meeting of club owners with such a young woman. Nonetheless, she acts as if she’s been doing this all her life.”
When it was pointed out to Zaira that Icardi wasn’t playing at the moment, she outlined some reasons.
“That is not Wanda’s fault, it is the club that wanted a show of power. A club can set a player aside to show what it can do, or as punishment for requesting more money.
“It’s not Wanda’s fault and she never does anything with regards to Mauro’s contract without him agreeing to it.”
Icardi resumed training this week and hopes to be fit enough to feature against Lazio when Serie A resumes.
