Inter will finally set up an appointment with Milan Skriniar’s agent to discuss that contract extension, as PSG, Chelsea and Manchester City have changed the previous agreement.

The centre-back is the core of their three-man defence, but his contract only runs to June 2023 and he could already begin to negotiate with other clubs from February.

The Nerazzurri have so far remained calm on the situation, knowing they had previously agreed an extension with the representative over the summer, but things have changed after huge offers came in from Paris Saint-Germain.

With Chelsea and Manchester City also now interested in the Slovakia international, the pressure is building to improve that salary even more.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Inter have contacted Skriniar’s agent to set up an appointment.

His current salary at San Siro is €3.2m per season, which was meant to increase to just over €4m per season plus bonuses.

However, with PSG reportedly offering him €7.5m per season plus another €1.5m in add-ons, Inter are going to have to raise that previously-agreed figure.

It won’t match the Paris Saint-Germain wages, but should still be enough to convince him to remain.
