Inter have identified Cagliari prospect Raoul Bellanova as their top option to strengthen their wing back department this summer.

The Nerazzurri are looking for a new backup wing back to alternative between Robin Gosens, Denzel Dumfries and Matteo Darmian. The recent departure of Ivan Perisic to Tottenham has forced the club to act and now they’re preparing to sign a replacement for the Croatian.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Bellanova is Inter’s top choice to work alongside Gosens in the left wing back role and they’re preparing to start talks with the recently relegated Cagliari.

The 22-year-old Bellanova was one of the more positive parts of a poor Cagliari side this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists in 31 Serie A appearances. The Rossoblu’s relegation makes a deal significantly more accessible, especially when considering that they recently activated the buy option to sign him permanently from French side Bordeaux.
