One of Inter’s priorities this summer is to sign a backup to Marcelo Brozovic and one player they’re big fans of is Bologna midfielder Jerdy Schouten.
The 25-year-old Dutchman missed a number of games this season due to both muscle fatigue and a pubis bone irritation, but after recovering he quickly returned to form, impressing as a defensive midfielder in Sinisa Mihajlovic’s system.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Bologna chairman Joey Saputo does consider Schouten unsellable but the inclusion of a player in exchange may sweeten the deal. Inter are keen to pick him up and the player’s agent Frank Schouten will arrive in Emilia-Romagna next week.
The 25-year-old’s base price is around €15m and Inter will work on a convincing formula, possibly including Martin Satriano, Sebastiano Esposito or Andrea Pinamonti in a deal. Coach Simone Inzaghi has also given a green light to the move.
