Denzel Dumfries has been a more than adequate replacement for Achraf Hakimi at Inter, but there are reports he could be sold for the right price to Bayern Munich or Tottenham Hotspur.

The 26-year-old was signed from PSV Eindhoven last summer for €13.7m including bonuses.

He has so far played 40 competitive games, scoring five goals – all of them in Serie A – and providing seven assists.

That is already close to the seven goals and 10 assists contributed by Hakimi in his 45 matches in the 2020-21 campaign.

Hakimi was purchased for €43m and sold for €66.5m plus bonuses, making a massive profit with a quick turnaround.

According to Sport Mediaset, Dumfries could follow the same pattern, with a minimum price-tag of €40m set for any potential buyers.

The clubs most interested in the Dutch international are believed to be Bayern Munich and Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur.

Dumfries already has 32 senior caps for the Netherlands under his belt, with three goals.
