Inter send Fabbian to Bologna after Samardzic collapse

Sky Sport Italia claim that Inter have agreed a €5m sale of Giovanni Fabbian to Bologna, with a buy-back option set at €12m, after Lazar Samardzic wrecked the exchange with Udinese.

Fabbian had been set to join Udinese as part of the deal bringing Samardzic to Inter, along with €15m in cash.

However, that crumbled when Samardzic’s father and other members of his entourage suddenly demanded more money in commissions and for his salary.

That saw the entire deal abandoned after a week of negotiations, so Fabbian found himself looking for a different alternative.

According to this evening’s reports, an agreement has now been reached for the 20-year-old midfielder to join Bologna instead.

The cost of the operation is €5m in cash, but Inter do retain a buy-back option set at €12m.

That had also been part of the plan if Fabbian had gone to Udinese.

He is a product of the Inter youth academy and spent last season on loan in Serie B with Reggina.
