Inter came back from behind to beat Paris Saint-Germain in a 2-1 win in a pre-season friendly in Japan.

The Nerazzurri were held to a 1-1 draw by Al-Nassr in their first friendly in Japan on July 27, a result that didn’t leave the best impression on supporters ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Simone Inzaghi was keen for a full evaluation of his players and started a strong 11 in the friendly with PSG, deploying stars like Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram, Nicolo Barella and Alessandro Bastoni. Youngster Filip Stankovic took between the posts as the goalkeeper.

The Ligue 1 giants also started a strong squad under Luiz Enrique, lining up Gianluigi Donnarumma, Lucas Hernandez, Fabian Ruiz and Asensio.

Inter did not start the friendly well and were on the back foot for the first 20 minutes, but started to settle a little more into the match, although they failed to particularly trouble PSG, leaving things goalless at half time.

The Nerazzurri looked to be building momentum in the early stages of the second half, before being punished by Vitinha in the 64th minute, who beat Stankovic to put the Parisians 1-0 up.

Both sides made a number of changes after this but little seemed to change, until things suddenly turned around in the space of three minutes.

PSG seemed to lose focus and Inter took advantage of this, netting an equaliser in the 81st minute after Sebastiano Esposito’s strike beat Donnarumma. Two minutes later, they took the lead thanks to Stefano Sensi, turning the game on its head.

Inter saw out their victory, seeing some positive signs from the last friendly of their pre-season tour in Japan.
