Inter are concerned after goalkeeper Yann Sommer limped off with an ankle injury during Switzerland’s international friendly with Denmark.

The 35-year-old was in the starting XI, but was forced off after just 37 minutes to make way for Yvon Mvogo.

Sommer appeared to sprain his right ankle following a corner kick and at first tried to shake it off, but eventually had to give up and leave the pitch before half-time.

He has a history of ankle issues and already had a similar problem when playing for Borussia Monchengladbach before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

There was another ankle injury affecting the ligaments in 2016.

Inter are already dealing with an injury crisis ahead of the next Serie A match against Empoli, with Stefan de Vrij, Marko Arnautovic and Juan Cuadrado already out.

If Sommer is unable to play, then Inter will look to second choice Emil Audero, who is currently on loan from Sampdoria.
