Alvaro Morata has been linked with Inter, Milan, Roma and a return to Juventus, but it is now reported he will sign a new contract with Atletico Madrid instead.

The centre-forward turns 31 in October and has been with Atleti since January 2019, initially on loan and then on a permanent basis from Chelsea for a total €52m.

He was a known target for the Serie A sides seeking a new hitman, including Inter, Milan and Roma.

A third different spell at Juventus was also mooted after his experiences from 2014-16 and again from 2020 to 2022.

There were reports initially that he had a release clause set at just €12m for clubs outside of Italy, although Spanish sources insisted it was closer to double that sum.

Now Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims that Atletico Madrid have offered him a new contract that would let him remain with Diego Simeone’s side until 2027.
