Inter have reportedly switched their attentions back to Arturo Vidal after Barcelona entered the fray.
Inter’s pursuit of Vidal had slowed down as they studied a potential deal for Luka Modric, but Sport Mediaset believes the Chilean is ‘ever closer’ to the Nerazzurri once more.
This would stem from a desire to ‘avoid unpleasant surprises’, with the broadcaster claiming Barca are ‘closely monitoring the situation’ as they look to bring in another midfielder.

Vidal’s agent Fernando Felicevich is understood to be in Milan, where he will hold a ‘short meeting’ with Beneamata sporting director Piero Ausilio.
Moreover, FCInterNews reports intermediary Giovanni Branchini is on his way to Germany to ‘complete’ the 30-year-old’s transfer to San Siro, which would consist of an ‘expensive’ loan and a €22m option to buy next summer.
Inter are said to have offered the former Juventus man a three-year contract worth €4.5m a season – €2.5m less than what he earns at Bayern.
The German club are also likely to extend his contract until 2020, although this would only serve to protect them in the event the Nerazzurri do not take up their purchase option.
