After the 1-0 loss to Fiorentina at San Siro on Saturday, Inter are now up to 10 losses from 28 games so far this term, and now they have recorded double digits for defeats in five of their last 10 seasons in Serie A.

Simone Inzaghi have now been beaten by nine different sides in Lazio, Milan, Udinese, Roma, Juventus (twice), Empoli, Bologna, Spezia and Fiorentina.

And some of the remaining games in the Nerazzurri’s league schedule don’t look particularly encouraging either, with tough tests against Lazio, Roma, Napoli and Atalanta lying in their wake within the final 10 league games of the season.

However, this is not the first time in the last 10 years that Inter have racked up 10 losses within a singular league campaign.

The Nerazzurri recorded 16 under Andrea Stramaccioni in 2012-13 eventually finishing in ninth place.

Two years later in 2014-15, they had 11 defeats under Walter Mazzarri and Roberto Mancini, finishing eighth, 11 under Mancini the following season, finishing fourth and 14 under Frank De Boer, Stefano Pioli and Stefano Vecchi in 2016-17, winding up in seventh position.

This is the first time in six seasons that Inter have lost more than 10 times in the league, and of the four occasions they had previously done the same, they only finished in the top four once.

Inter also have commitments in both the Coppa Italia and the Champions League to factor in before the end of this season.
