Good news for Inter ahead of their Champions League final against Manchester City as Henrikh Mkhitaryan has returned to squad training.

The 34-year-old Armenian midfielder has been a core part of Simone Inzaghi’s squad in the Lombardy capital this season, starting in 11 of their 12 Champions League outings, but has been hampered by injuries in recent weeks.

Mkhitaryan missed Inter’s final three Serie A games of the season with a hamstring injury and there were fears that he’d be forced to miss out on the Champions League final against Manchester City, which kicks off on June 10 in Istanbul.

As highlighted by TMW, Mkhitaryan returned to squad training today at Appiano Gentile, working with Simone Inzaghi and his Inter teammates. He’s now expected to be fit for the final, strengthening the midfield for their decisive clash in Istanbul.

The 34-year-old Armenian midfielder has scored five goals and provided two assists in 48 appearances across all competitions this season.
