Inter are serious about signing Juventus star Paulo Dybala and CEO Beppe Marotta has come up with a clear plan after opening talks with his agent.

The 28-year-old Argentinian forward’s contract expires with the Bianconeri at the end of this season and his agent Jorge Antun will meet with the club on Thursday next week in order to discuss a possible renewal. The agent could also make the trip over to Lombardy; until now, Antun and Marotta have only spoken on the phone but they could pencil in a face-to-face meeting as well.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter can’t afford to offer as much as Juventus did to Dybala before Christmas – €8m net per season plus €2m in add-ons, lasting until 2026 – but they’re still desperate to sign the player. A lower offer from the Bianconeri would change things, and for now the Nerazzurri seem to be in luck.

Juventus don’t seem to be willing to offer more than €7m net plus add-ons per season and they’d prefer a three-year deal, not four years. Antun will listen to this proposal as well as taking the time to take stock of the Argentinian forward’s admirers; in addition to Inter, Tottenham, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are all keen on the former Palermo man.

Inter need to free up some resources before they can pull off the deal. The departures of Arturo Vidal and Matias Vecino, whose contracts expire in the summer, guarantee a total saving of around €16m gross per season. The possible sale of Lautaro Martinez would also give the Nerazzurri more room to manoeuvre.

For now Inter need to wait until next Thursday to see how Dybala’s meeting goes with Juventus. Marotta is ready and wants to be re-united with the Argentinian once again, like he was seven years ago in Turin.

  1. To jon: We not feel that we have him 4 years in a row, there is no player, simply name and big salary

  2. If he leaves then pogba will back, his wage can be use to pay pogba more, and juve need pogba more than him. Juve already have chiesa, who is more explosive and not selfish to feed vlahovic.

  3. If you’re going to spend money on a player with injuries, better to try Dembele because we need a pacy winger more than Dybala.

  4. Better just go wherever he want even to inter
And the saving should be used for younger player and more pacey, not for pogba
Pogba is near the same with dybala
Maybe juve can use the money for gravenberch or skillful second striker like zaniolo or werner

  5. He is too injury prone.

Inter are poorer than a hobo on the streets. It would be foolish business for them to blow a very significant amount of cash on the wages of a player who is likely injured half the time, when they have such a limited budget.

  6. @Cypher

Spell the name of the Italian Champions properly

    INTER

Btw juve went for Inter ‘trash’ like Lucio and Hernanes

And now want ex Inter player Zaniolo

Nothing wrong with signing players with a past at a rival, even your juve did and continue to do it. Don’t be hypocritical. Pirlo was Milan ‘trash’, Bonucci was an Inter youth product. Allegri was Milan’s coach. juve got them despite being at rivals before juve. Are you familiar with those facts?

  7. Werner is fast, but he’s about as skilful as Kevin Lasagna.

Dybala’s injury-proneness is a myth. People always say this and it’s total nonsense. Check his stats. He’s had one somewhat injury-prone season. And even that involved Covid-19 and another virus, with the absences not solely due to injuries. And even then… he still appeared close to 30 times! It’s a myth.
