Reports suggest that Inter have agreed a price with Athletico Paranaense for goalkeeper Bento ahead of next summer.

The Nerazzurri sold Andre Onana to Manchester United in the summer for around €55m and brought in veteran Yann Sommer as his short-term replacement. Whilst the Swiss goalkeeper has done well, he’ll turn 35 next month, pushing the club to start considering their long-term prospects.

In the summer, Inter openly stated their interest in Bento and sent in an offer for the 24-year-old. At the time, Athletico Paranaense decided to reject the proposal, but they appreciated the Italian side’s conduct and talks between the parties didn’t stop as the season started.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Inter have now agreed a pre-emption right with Athletico Paranaense for Bento, on the basis of a deal worth around €15m. They have until a specified date in the summer to confirm if they’d like to formalise the offer or not.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper has already admitted that playing for the club is ‘his dream’, so the ball is now in the Nerazzurri’s court.
