Inter President Steven Zhang assures the Coppa Italia victory over Juventus ‘will remain in history forever,’ but they aren’t done yet and are ‘very confident’ of pipping Milan to the Scudetto.

Nicolò Barella had opened the scoring at the Stadio Olimpico, before Alex Sandro and Dusan Vlahovic turned it around.

Hakan Calhanoglu’s penalty forced extra time, which is when Ivan Perisic let loose with a brace for the 4-2 final result.

Inter had not won the Coppa Italia since the 2010-11 campaign, which is also the last season that Juventus ended empty-handed.

“Every day I feel honoured to work with this group of people, not only on the pitch, but also the staff and everybody off the pitch. It’s the right result for us and we thank everyone who supported us,” Zhang told Sport Mediaset.

“This Cup will remain in the history of Inter forever, so of course we’re happy, but at the same time, the season is not finished yet, so we will fight and fight and push to the end.”

Are Inter truly confident they can win the Scudetto and catch up to Milan in two rounds, with a two-point gap and inferior head-to-head record?

“We are all very confident.”

  1. Inter will win the league. I put my bet on after Inter lost to Bologna a few weeks ago. Chinese are the most corrupt in the world and I am sure the payments have already been made to ‘win’ the title. Inter will somehow win this scudetto still. Go bet now. Remember what I told you. CORRUPTION SERIE A

  2. Well, Zhang has to say that. He may be right, he may be wrong but of course he’s going to say they are confident. I was just happy to see them have to play 120 mins last night. Every little helps.
