Inter are reportedly willing to break their wage structure to lock down star striker Lautaro Martinez to a lucrative long-term contract.

The 26-year-old Argentinian forward has grown into the clear talisman of Simone Inzaghi’s Nerazzurri squad and has continued to prove decisive this term, scoring 15 goals and providing three assists across 19 total games.

Lautaro is already one of the highest earners in the Inter squad, receiving a salary of around €6.5m net per season plus add-ons, but with his deal expiring in June 2026, the club are keen to secure his long-term future.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Inter are ready to start discussing the details of a new contract for Lautaro with his agent Alejandro Camano, open to breaking their wage structure to offer him a high salary.

The new salary could be as high as €10m net per year plus add-ons, reflective of his star status both at the club and on the European stage.

Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti has wanted the club to find a new leader and talisman for a while now, and believes that Lautaro has filled that role perfectly.

The Argentinian striker has been with the Nerazzurri since July 2018, scoring 117 goals and providing 39 assists across 257 matches.
