Inter will try again to lure Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric away from Real Madrid at the end of the season, claims Spanish paper Marca.

The Nerazzurri made no secret of their pursuit after Croatia reached the World Cup Final and this infuriated Real Madrid, who threatened to report them to FIFA for an illegal approach.

According to Marca, Inter will give it another go in the summer of 2019 with new director Beppe Marotta leading negotiations.

Marotta helped secure Cristiano Ronaldo’s switch from Real Madrid to Juventus and believes he can swing a deal.

Inter had reportedly offered €10m net in wages over a four-year contract, with a plan to join Chinese side Jiangsu Suning – Inter’s sister club in China – for another two years.
