Inter remain interested in Gianluca Scamacca and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, they could beat Juventus to signing the Sassuolo striker by offering a swap deal.

Scamacca, 22, is regarded as one of Italy’s most promising strikers and has scored six goals in 19 Serie A appearances this term.

Juventus are among the clubs interested in securing his services, but the Bianconeri value the player at €30-35m, while Sassuolo are looking for a sale in the region of €40-45m.

Juventus would sign Scamacca on loan with an obligation to buy, but the Neroverdi are unwilling to sell their forward in January.

Why Mancini should look to Scamacca to solve Italy’s problems in attack

They’ve already sold Jeremie Boga to Atalanta, so they are not forced to part ways with another one of their stars to balance the books.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter have jumped to the front of the queue to sign the Italian starlet.

The Nerazzurri are open to meeting Sassuolo’s demands in the summer by offering a fee close to €45m, including a couple of players that have been scouted by Sassuolo lately.

One is Andrea Pinamonti, currently on loan at Empoli where he has scored seven goals in 18 appearances. Pinamonti is valued at €20m. The other one is the defender Lorenzo Pirola, a centre-back now on loan at Monza in Serie B.

Scamacca is not the only target in attack for Inter as the Nerazzurri continue to monitor River Plate starlet Julian Alvarez.

  1. I`m sure if Marotta wants Scamacca, he will have him.

Meanwhile juBentus can chase Icardi and dream of Vlahovic.

  2. Sorry, but what has Scamacca done to have a price tag of 45m? He’ll be 23 in January. Just bring in Icardi and everybody’s happy. Scamacca is as overpriced as Kean.

  3. You respect the drive and market strategy of Inter but like a lot of teams (Milan included) they seem to prefer to ignore their own talent internally and gamble on someone else. Pinamonti springs to mind with Inter, Cutrone with Milan, Kean with Juve. It’s a poor and costly precedent.

  4. @Chris

None of those players are actually fit to lead the attacking department of any of those top clubs. Cutrone is not good enough to be Milan’s striker, Kean is not good enough to be Juve’s and Pinamonti is not good enough for Inter. Sorry.

Sure, they can be impact subs, but when you take into account the capital you earn by selling them (because their youth products) it makes sense to sell.

Youth products nowadays should be either good enough to start for your club or it makes more sense to sell them for profit. This is the reality of today’s market unfortunately.

  5. He looks decent, though the price is too much. But it’s made up, so it should be less.

Juve need him to replace Morata, as Vlahovic may be too expensive. And Inter will need a long-term replacement for Dzeko.

  6. Vlahovic is the real target for Juventus in the summer but both are overpriced. Scamacca has potential but Vlahovic is a bomber and can make the impact immediately. If Marotta steps in it will be all over for Juventus. That being said if Juventus gets Vlahovic no need to despair if Scamacca goes to Inter.
