Inter are now leading the race for Yannick Carrasco, offering Antonio Candreva to Dalian Yifang, so Milan turn to Watford’s Gerard Deulofeu.

The Rossoneri had set their sights on Carrasco, who is eager for a return to Europe after his €30m transfer to China a year ago.

However, their city rivals have taken the upper hand over the last few days and Sky Sport Italia claim they could use Candreva as part of an exchange.

They no longer require the Italy veteran and he confirmed he’s looking elsewhere due to the lack of playing time.

With that in mind, Milan have turned their attention towards a familiar face, namely Deulofeu.

The 24-year-old Spain international already impressed during his six-month loan spell with the Rossoneri in 2017.

Since then, he has been through Everton, Barcelona and Watford, sold for €13m this summer.

According to Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia, Watford told Milan they can only have him for €25m, whereas the Serie A giants are hoping for a loan with option to buy.
