Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti has decided to turn down proposals from Monza and Salernitana, so is hoping to finalise a transfer to Atalanta instead.
The hitman spent the 2021-22 campaign on loan at Empoli, where he scored an impressive 13 goals in 36 Serie A appearances.
A product of the Inter youth academy, the 23-year-old also had loan spells at Frosinone and Genoa, but is now ready to move on in a permanent transfer.
According to Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, Pinamonti is not convinced by the offers from newly-promoted Monza and relegation battlers Salernitana.
He wants a more ambitious club to continue his career and is pushing for Atalanta.
A meeting is scheduled for Thursday and Inter have set a minimum price of €18-20m.
So far, Atalanta have only offered €12-13m plus performance-related bonuses, but they can continue negotiations to whittle down that gap.
There were even suggestions this week that Atalanta had proposed Duvan Zapata in exchange, but Inter said no, as they already have Edin Dzeko and now also Romelu Lukaku.
