Inter have overtaken both Juventus and Roma in the latest UEFA club coefficient ranking and are now the highest-rated Italian team in Europe following their run to the Champions League final in June.

UEFA’s ranking system is based on teams’ results in the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League over a five-year period.

Wins in the Champions League are worth more than wins in the Europa League and wins in the Europa League are worth more than in the Conference League. Teams also earn points based on qualification for the group stages and for each stage of the competition they pass.

Thanks to their successful campaign in the Champions League in 2022-23, Inter are now ranked eighth overall in UEFA’s system, up three places from their ranking of 11th last season.

Roma, following their journey to the final of the Europa League, are now ranked ninth, a one-position increase from their 10th place ranking for the season just gone.

Juventus come in ranked as Italy’s third best team in Europe, ranking 10th in the system, down two places from their previous position.

Elsewhere, Napoli come in at 18th, up one position from last season, Atalanta rank 25th, an improvement of three places, whilst Milan land in 33rd place, four positions better than the previous campaign.
