Gabriele Oriali will link back up with Antonio Conte at Inter but will also remain Italy’s team manager, the FIGC has confirmed.
Oriali was expected to give up his role with Italy, which he has held since 2014, to take up the same position at Inter, but he will instead work for both teams until next summer, in the event the Azzurri qualify for the European finals.
“This morning, in agreement with Inter, we defined Oriali’s position,” FIGC chief Gabriele Gravina told ANSA.

“This morning, in agreement with Inter, we defined Oriali’s position,” FIGC chief Gabriele Gravina told ANSA.
“He asked us if he could return to a club that he is linked to emotionally and still feels his own.
“We’ve respected the will of both Mancini and Oriali and we’ll stick with Oriali until Euro 2020.”
The former Nerazzurri midfielder and 1982 World Cup winner had already been part of the club’s hierarchy between 1999 and 2010 in various roles.
However, the 66-year-old left following a bitter row with then-technical director Marco Branca and subsequently linked up with Conte in the Italy set-up.
