Lautaro Martinez calls Inter “one of the biggest clubs in Italy”, but admits “it would hurt” to leave Racing Club without winning anything.

The 20-year-old striker has been heavily linked with the Nerazzurri in recent weeks, and it’s widely expected he’ll make the move to Italy at the end of the season.

“Inter? They’re one of the biggest clubs in Italy,” Martinez told Olé.

“They’re always fighting for everything, playing in the Champions League. Diego [Milito] told me about his experiences there, he won everything and is an idol there. He told me what the club is all about.

“Other than that, they’re one of the clubs most interested in me, but my agent takes care of these things.

“The truth is it makes me happy, if I’m being talked about it means I’m doing things very well.

“Leaving without winning a trophy? Without a doubt it would hurt me. Winning a trophy with this club would be something beautiful, wonderful.

“I got goosebumps in 2014 [when Racing won the Primera Division], the stadium was full, there wasn’t a spare seat in the house.

“It must be spectacular to have a trophy with your name on it, but I’ll be here until June and I’ll give my best.

“That means that any club that wants me will have to negotiate with the Racing President [Victor Blanco], with my agent, and with me. I’ll make the decision.”
