Edin Dzeko has gone 420 minutes without scoring a goal, but Simone Inzaghi’s assistant coach Massimiliano Farris insists the club is not worried by the striker’s form.

Dzeko had had a terrific start to the season with seven goals in the opening ten Serie A games, adding three in six Champions League appearances.

However, the former Roma striker has scored just one goal in the last 12 Serie A matches and has gone 420 minutes without scoring.

Ironically, the last time he found the net was against his former club Roma in an away 3-0 win on December 4.

The 35-year-old missed a couple of chances in a goalless stalemate against Atalanta last night, but Inter are not worried about their striker’s recent poor form.

“Dzeko is a great striker and our attacking department is top-level,” Inzaghi’s assistant coach Farris said at a post-match press conference yesterday.

“Perhaps, Edin was not lucky. He is a striker who links attack and midfield and helps the team.”

Dzeko is Inter’s second-best scorer this season with 11 goals in 27 games. Lautaro Martinez has only scored one goal more than him, having netted 12 goals in 26 appearances this term.
