Inter no closer to Lukaku

Despite Spanish reports Inter had agreed to meet Manchester United’s €80m valuation for Romelu Lukaku, Italian media insist there has been no new offer.

Spanish paper AS had claimed the two clubs were days away from securing an agreement, which between fixed transfer fee and bonuses would reach the €80m asking price.

However, Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio warns Inter are nowhere near a deal.

Spanish paper AS had claimed the two clubs were days away from securing an agreement, which between fixed transfer fee and bonuses would reach the €80m asking price.

However, Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio warns Inter are nowhere near a deal.

They are prepared to make an offer that gets closer to the figures quoted, but it’d be spread out over several years and add-ons.

Tuttosport believe the new proposal will be at most €60m.

Sportitalia also maintain no new proposal has yet been made to Manchester United, largely because they need to sell before purchasing.

The Mauro Icardi situation is stalling Inter, as the former captain has been left out of their squad for the International Champions Cup.

Although Napoli are prepared to pay the €60m asking price, Icardi has his heart set on Juventus.
