Inter negotiated with Monaco through the night, but confessed to being “no closer” to Milan target Geoffrey Kondogbia.

The 22-year-old midfielder has a price-tag of €35m and both Milan and Inter were in Monte Carlo on Friday for talks.

Rossoneri CEO Adriano Galliani had the earlier encounters with club and agent, while Nerazzurri directors Piero Ausilio and Marco Fassone didn’t end their negotiations until 2am local time.

“Are we closer? Unfortunately not,” Fassone told Sky Sport Italia as he emerged from the meeting.

“We’ll see. Tomorrow the negotiations continue.”

It’s reported both Milan and Inter are edging closer to Monaco’s €35m asking price, while the player wants wages worth €4m per season.

Meanwhile, Milan Channel gave its report on the situation, pointing out the talks are “at an advanced stage,” but there’s still no signature.

Monaco are leaving the decision largely to Kondogbia, so both Milan clubs are rushing to make the player happy before discussing the club’s price-tag.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Rossoneri CEO Galliani confessed “whoever wins will be bled dry.”
